action rod

Rich,I came across an Action rod model 5486 in near mint unused condition. It is green with orange thread holding eyes. The only marking is MODEL 5486 Actionrod HCH-D LINE.Its 8'6" Any info would be appreciated. Does it have any collector value? I picked it up for 25 bucks so I'm not out either way to much if i decide to use it, just hate to since it appears to have never been used. If you dont have any info maybe you could point me into the right direction.     Thanks, Jack

Hi Jack - I have no experience with Actionrod aside from the fact that they are a fiberglass rod.  Here is what you need to do...first take a few digital photos of the rod.  Then go to this website:

Go to the 'Collecting Fiberglass Fly Rods' thread and post a few photos and a simple message stating you would like to know about the history and potential value of the rod.  You will get all the info you need.
