Your rod was sold by Shapleigh Hardware. Their trademark was "Diamond Edge" and that's where the DE marking comes in. Shapleigh was located in St Louis.

The actual maker of the rod could have been any one of a dozen companies who sold rods wholesale to Shapleigh.
