How to put line on a conventional rod and reel combo

Question
I just bought a Penn GTO level wind conventional rod and reel at bass pro and i cannot find out how to put line on it.

Answer
This is a little outside my expertise but I do fish so I ahve my opinion. IF your talking mechanics of actually getting the line onto the reel and it is some sort of limitation of the equipment I am not sure I can help there BUT if it is about spooling and tying the line on here are some general suggestions.

A straight Square knot is going to be the easiest. but make sure it is snug againts the spool base. IF you have trouble with slippage some first aid tape really can help. once you have it tied make sure that you either have someone help by holding the new line spool to provide tension on the spool as you reel the line onto the reel. Having tension will provide for a tight spool and will help with the conditioning of the line which is sometimes present with spooled line. Putting the line on in either direction is not as critical as making sure that the line goes on the spool evenly and all this takes is a little time and care to ensure you are not rushing to get the line of the spool onto the reel.

Take your time, tie a good tight knot and ensure a tight line while your reeling this will give you the best possible outcome.

Esnure your have adequate space between the edge of the spool and the maximum amount of line. About 1/8 inch should be enough line on the reel.
