basic saltwater tackle kit

Question
Kit, I am looking for a basic saltwater fishing tackle kit, to fish off bridges and piers. If not a complete tackle box, then a list of suggested hooks, weights, leaders, swivels, knives and etc. to start a basic saltwater fishing tackle box for piers and bridges, I can get stated with. I thank you for any assistance or suggestions you can give.
By the way its not very often I see the nick name Kit, which my mother and family have called for 58 years even though my real name is Robert.

Answer
Hi Robert, sorry for the late reply. I got sick and was not able to check my email for some time.

Wow...this is a tough one.

I assume you already have a rod and reel?

If you do, please give me more information on the rod and reel that you have, this will dictate the weights and other bits and bobs that come in your box first.

Here's why; if you have light tackle equipment, I just can't say "4oz weight" since it would be too heavy for tackle rods rated 6lb-10lb. the rod and reel you have would also dictate the size of the hooks you would be using (you can't use a 10/0 hook (used for shark fishing) on a light rod and reel.

give me more information, and we will set you up with all the basics.

will be waiting for your response.

Thanks for asking,

Kit
