squid fishing

Hi Richard im very interested in fishing especialy for squid we called them clamari in Malta i go fishing from my boat for them and im not so bad for catching squid i use yazuri jiggs and the thickness of the line i use is 35 as i told you im not that bad in my catch but i wish to learn more .

Hi Manuel;

 There is not much I can tell you, especially since you already are doing it.  I do know that you can usually do much better fishing at night than in the day, and in the dark some sort of glowing device such as a light stick on the line near the jig will improve your results.  You do not say what sort of line you are using, but if you are not using one of the newer super lines such as "Fireline" or "Spider Wire" or some other brand with the smaller diameter and less stretch than monofilament, as all those lines have, you might try that for a better feel and more possitive snagging of the squid.  Sorry I could not provide more information, but I have only done a limited amount of squid fishing.
