rifle shafts

Question
My son and I are looking for new clubs and have a question about shafts.  I have heard the rifle shaft was the best but I am not sure which flex to try.  I'm 44 and a 6 handicap and have been playing steel stiff shaft my whole life.  I've recently tried a regular graphite shaft and did seem to hit the ball straighter without losing any distance. My son is 18 and besides the 5 inches between his ears is a better golfer than I.  Which rifle shaft do you recommend if any?  Thanks Matt

Answer
Matt,

The first thing I recommend is to contact a PGA Professional in your area that is an expert in club fitting. He/she should have many different clubs with an assortment of shafts to demo. This way you can see the results of the equipment instead of going on someone's suggestion. Rifle shafts are fine but make sure you try them on the range along with other shafts (graphite included).

Hope this helps.
