recomend driver

Question
i am 5'-6" ,170 lbs what loft and length driver would recommend right now i play a 8 degree 45 inch which i hit an average of about 240 yards with a high trajectory  i am thinking of buying a 9.5 degree callaway ft i driver with a aldila nv shaft what do you think

Answer
Hi Edward:
If you get a 9.5 lofted driver, make sure the shaft is a little stiffer than the one you use now.  If you already have a high trajectory, going to a higher loft won't help.  What your looking for is the maximum launch angle (loft) with no spin (most carry).  You want you golf ball to tumble forward when it hits.  If you get a driver with more loft, be careful the shot does not go real high with backspin so you get no roll.  A 9.5 is great or maybe even a 10.5, but get a shaft stiff enough to handle it.  You must be able to try different clubs to see them go and watch them fly and react.  Please don't just buy one off the shelf or the Internet.  Not only will you be pleased by what you get, you will have benefitted from the education involved in getting fit for a club.  You can also expect a little more distance with a properly fit driver for you.  See a good clubfitter or PGA Professional in your area if you have questions.
