What is the best 1 iron for a high handicap golfer with the most forgiveness

There isn't a good 1 iron for a high handicapper. Period. As a matter of fact, 1 irons are extremely rare these days. I can't tell you the last time I've seen a 1 iron in a good player's bag. I haven't carried a 1 iron for years now.

For that matter 2 and 3 irons probably should be replaced in a high handicapper's bag with hy-brid clubs. The hy-brids are so much easier to hit than the long irons.

Spend some time working on your short game. Forget the 1 iron my friend.
