Adjusting Loft on Forged Irons: Impact on Lie Angle?
Question
I am thinking about weakening the lofts 2 degrees on my forged irons. I know that bending the loft does effect the sole, especially the bounce angle of the club. My question is whether or not changing the loft will effect the lie angle.
Thanks,
Josh
Answer
Josh,
Is this something that you will have someone else do for you that has the proper equipment? If so, have them weaken the lofts by 2 degrees. Once that is done make sure they measure the lie of your clubs to ensure that they are correct.
The answer to your question is no, weakening your lofts shouldn't affect the lie of your clubs.
Thanks,
Michael
