Weight shift

Question
Hello again,  I have read many of your responses about weight shift.  You say that weight should transfer from your right middle foot to the middle to heel of your left foot.  This may be a difficult question but I would like a little clarification.  I start with the weight on the balls(by the toes) of my feet and when I am done the weight is usually around my arch near the outside of my left foot.  Is this correct?  Sometimes at impact especially with my driver I feel my left heel come off the ground.  Is this bad?  Thanks

Answer
Jason:

Yes.  That is correct.  I wouldn't get involved with your left heel coming off the ground at impact, I would rather be more grounded through the strike.  The reason I suggest middle of foot to middle of foot, is to keep people off their toes.  The weight is best balanced on the balls of your feet.  In any athletic movement, you must be on the balls of your feet ready to move in any direction.  That is good balance, even for a golf swing.  But you're fine thinking about it the way you are.  At the finish, you'll notice the left toe is up a little and more weight is on the outside of your left foot, from the middle of the foot to the heel.  Arch is fine, just not the toes.
