wood loft.

Question
Hi, I have FT-3 [11 loft] and the Big Bertha Steelhead Plus [steel shaft] 5 wood, and need a 3 wood [maybe Heavenwood 17o loft] to replace a very old northwestern 3 wood. Trouble is I don't know what loft the 5 is ?   Any idea how I can tell, or suggestions for the ideal club ?

Answer
Pete,

You're jogging my memory quite a bit, but I believe the Big Bertha 5 wood has 21 degrees of loft. With that in mind, the question that needs to be asked is what would you need this club to do for you. I would think that a 3 wood loft of 14 TO 16 degrees would be where you need to be.

The best way to find this out is to see if there is a demo day near where you live. They are generally free of charge and you can hit different degrees of fairway woods (hybrids) and you will be able to find the right club for you. Call some local golf shops or retailers and ask if they are or know of a demo day in the near future.

Hope this helps,
