Equipment in Hazards

Question
QUESTION: Are you allowed to have your Golf Buggy or equipment other than the club you are using inside the hazard when making a stroke ?

ANSWER: George,

You certainly can take other clubs with you into the hazard, but be careful not to ground any club in the hazard prior to your downswing. To do this properly make sure that you drop the clubs prior to them hitting the ground in a water hazard or the sand in a bunker. As far as your golf buggy is concerned, keep it out of all hazards at all times.

QUESTION:
Michael, thanks for your prompt reply, as a follow up question re Golf Buggy in lateral hazard, what is the penalty if you hit the ball whilst the buggy is still in the hazard, particularly in match play.

Answer
George,

The penalty for having your golf buggy in any hazard on my golf course would be prompt removal. In match play, you would forfeit the match, since you would no longer be allowed to play the match.

Follow all golf course etiquette. It makes the game more fun for all.
