Antique Clubs

Question
Hi-I purchased a set of old irons from an auction the other day and was wondering if you or anyone you know could help me determine if they are worth anything. The shaft has a label that says "The Horton Mfg. Company Pat'd Nov. 22 1910 Seamless Steel Shaft Bristol, Conn". Each club head says "Airway" and then mashie, putter, midiron etc....Any help or steerage in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Regards,
Scott

Answer
Hi Scott,

I'm afraid I have no personal expertise in this area.  I found a website called www.golfforallages.com/values that talks about values for old golf clubs.  You might start there or another similar website.  I hope you have purchased a rare and highly collectable set of clubs.  But only an expert in that area will know for sure.

I had a very old Tommy Armour Ironmaster putter at one time and thought it might be worth some money.  Certain Ironmasters are worth several thousand dollars but others, like mine, were too common and therefore, not worth much at all.  I guess it's a matter of rarity and the value in the eyes of the buyer.

Good luck.  Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Sincerely,
