Tall Beginner Golf Clubs

Question
I recently picked up golf within the past 5 years and play about once/month. I want to ask for a set of beginner clubs this year for Christmas. The main question I have is do you think women's tall length clubs are long enough for a female that is 6'2" tall? I want the benefit of lighter clubs but don't want to sacrifice form because the length is too short. What do you recommend and is there a brand you recommend as a good set of beginner clubs?

Answer
Hello Kristin,  at 6'2" you are a perfect candidate for mens' SENIOR clubs.  They have the same shaft flexibility as womens with the extra length you would be more comfortable with.  I would not worry about the weight much, very little difference if any.  As far as brands,  they are all chevys and fords,  so they are so close , the brand itself is not important.  The main thing is to be sure the Irons (heads)are stainless steel, not zinc as you will find in cheaper clubs.  I would look at costco if you desire new clubs,  or you can save a ton of money looking on E-bay for used sets.  A set of mens' senior Cobra clubs would be ideal,  new they are about 6 to 9 hundred,  on e-bay about 2 hundred.  Good luck and feel free to write again.  My website is www.walkersgolfventures.com
