Leg pain

2016/7/22 11:38:11

Question
After a few runs my front leg starts to hurt from my ankle all the way up the outside of my leg. Ive tried making my laces really tight and even adjusting the angle of my bindings and it still sometimes hurts? Any idea what else could be causing this pain and what i could try to prevent it?

Answer
Jordann,

Pain is a normal part of snowboarding and usually passes once you get warmed up for the season, but if this is something that seems serious and will not go away after a few days you should see a doctor.

However if you have a wide stance, this could be be excessively stretching and straining your front leg.  Try narrowing it for a run or two and see how things feel.  If that does not work, possibly lowering the forward lean of your binding's highback could help.

It is impossible to guess at what the problem is without seeing your setup; take your board and boots to a local snowboard shop and ask them about it.
