Question
If you get a board new should you get it tuned up?

Answer

Alvin=  my main strength is in teaching the SB ; but i think i can give you a logical response. Some boards like Ride or K2 should be good to go and even be waxed. Others it may be good to wax; but not necessarily. If you think you will be in wet snow like spring; then it is usally good to wax. Some board are supposed to get detuned at the tip and tail. i never much worried about it, but some real freestyle boards it might be good for rail and butters and stuff. You might just try it out first to see how it glides and performes before you do much. One of the things they do these days is structure the boards that give it very small lines that can break snow away to improve speed. check with some shops and show them your board and see what advice they give. have a good safe time- wear a helmet.  hope for snow.  sincerely , Kurt Kalinna
