Snowboard Length Question

Question
Hello,
I just had a quick question about the length of my snowboard. About 3 years ago I bought a used 2004 Ride Concept snowboard from a sports shop for $200 with bindings it was in really good shape and I was just starting to snowboard. Now that I am getting better i'm afraid my snowboard may be too long. Its a 162 and I am about 5'10" and about 165 lbs. So far I mostly stay out of the terrain park, the board feels ok when I'm just going down trails but my concern is that it could be too long to perform in the terrain park. Do you think its too long for me?

Answer
Chris,
I weigh 155lbs and I'm 5'11" and I ride a 157, to give you an example.  its the perfect size for me.  So you could easily go down to 156 or 157 and it would be a good all around board for the mountain and the park.  It might be weird at first b/c you're used to a long board but I think you'll start to like it very quickly.  I would not use a 162 unless I was riding big powder lines in the backcountry.

Enjoy, Ben
