body position

Question
I am teaching someone to swim who has been in the water literally twice, both times with me.  He is now able to kick and pull simultaniously, but as soon as he starts to pull, his body position goes to 45 degrees (feet deeper in the water and only upper body on top of the water).  Head position is correct, and if he is only kicking, body position is correct.  How can I help fix this problem of body position in the water?

Answer
Katie--
Slow down a little bit, continue to work on body position with floating, kicking drills.  For someone who has only been in the water 2 times it's not going to be a quick fix.  What he is going through is normal.  Take your time and let him get real comfortable in the pool.  The problem should solve its self.
Good Luck
George
