Diving position on entering water

Question
I have been teaching swimming lessons for around 10 years now.  I am currently helping with the Summer League in my town.  I was asked by a parent to help with her daughters dive.  I have tried all of my tricks and have had no luck.  We've tried jumping through a hool-a-hoop, holding her toes against the side, even holding a pool bouy between her calves.  She is 9 years old and can dive well off of the side of the pool.  When she dives off of the blocks, she either sticks one leg under her body as she enters the water or both of her feet flip up and hit her in the back-side.  She is keeping her head down and she has pretty good extension.  Any help you can give would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Answer
Shelly--
It sounds like there is a subconscious fear going on here.  That extra height is playing with her head.  It sounds like you are doing all of the right things to get her ready.  Try having her concentrate on pushing all the way through her toes and holding the position until she is all the way underwater.  Beyond that, practice practice practice.
Hope this helps,
Good luck
George
