Answer
Hello,
I have found that when I teach lessons, as well as when I am trying to hold my breath as well, that it is very easy to hyperventolate yourself.  Be sure to take just a couple of deep breaths and dive under the water.   I think you will find that you can go farther.  You will also need to practice holding your breath for longer and longer each time you practice by trying to hod it under water for extended periods of time.

I think you will find with practice this will make a big difference.

Good luck,
Kate
