Question
Lorena: Is the swimming device offered by BothHands mfg. for real?  You can view it at www.bothhands.com and click on the picture of the swimmers leg to read a discription.  Thank you,

Kirk

Answer
Kirk -

Well, they appear to be for real.  However, I've never seen or heard of these being used in a practice.  I have seen a similar device advertised in swimming catalogues where a stretch cord is attached to a belt and the swimmers ankle, but never a device like this one.  I would have some doubts about the safety of a device like this one, since they don't allow the leg to bend at all -- turns would be difficult, and for the non-master swimmer, the chances of an accidental drowning would be increased because I would imagine they weigh quite a bit, although I don't know this for sure.  I would feel a little better if I had more specific information than a "product review."

Hope this is helpful.  If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact me again.  Good luck!

Lorena
