Buoyant Force in a Swimming Pool: Does it Increase with Depth?
The answer is no. Archimedes's principle, Fb=ρVg, states that buoyant force is equal to the density (ρ) of the fluid multiplied by the volume (V) of the fluid displaced by the object and by the gravitational acceleration (g). Since neither water density nor the volume of water displaced by a person is changing during the dive, buoyant force remains the same.
