Bob Backlund

Question
Hello there, its Ahsen,

In both Bret Hart's and Hulk Hogan's Autobiographies, it is mentioned that Bob Backlund was not agreed to drop World Championship in 1984 to Hogan being "non-legit or Real" wrestler. This was also the point of dispute between Vince McMahon Sr. with Vince Jr. and later was favouring Hogan. And it all done in the way Vince Jr. wanted.

After that we havent seen Bob for long time and may be Hogan was the reason he did not show up for so many years. Now what i want to ask that

1)How and why Bob returned back in early 90's (with Chicken Wing) when he was in confrontation with Vince McMahon Jr. ?

2) What was the story behind his tremendous heel push beating every superstar of that time including Lex Lugar & Bret Hart?

3) And why that push was so short that he gave mind blowing match with Bret Hart winning the championship and losing it very same week in just 7 seconds to new comer "Kevin DIESEL Nash"?

4) Why Bret Hart was not suppose to win the belt from Bob again and why that re-match was the last time we saw Bob in WWE?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Ahsen.  I never really liked the Bob Backlund character but never the less the WWE might have had poor storyline writers during those early 90's.     Also, Bob Backlund's return years later was probably just a money thing on both parts.  Just like movie stars, athletes including wrestlers are not going to perform or join an organization until they are presented with a contract that appeals to them.  On the flip side to this, an organization may pay a lot of money if that person performs well and is a money maker and marketable.
We'll never know behind the scenes of how people get along with each other or the money they are making to do so, it's just a fact of life.
Thanks for the contact and hope that you are still enjoying the entertainment of the WWE.

Steve Parker.
