Wrestling School in South East Asia

Question
hi Joe, I'm an aspiring wrestler and would love to work with a big promotion such as wwe, njpw etc. But my biggest problems are my body shape ( have to work on this badly ), my country doesnt have wrestling school for me to enrolled and of course, I haven't mastered my english. I could write decent English but when it comes to speaking the language I sluttered. I could speak when I'm drunk though lol.

I don't know any wrestling schools in Asia, would you recommend where is the best school? I'm from south east Asia. Let's say you have recommend me the school which is of course not in my country, how do I enroll to the school? How do I work on the visas? Greencard etc. The chances of getting a green card is zero if I want to enroll to one of the schools on States. Let say I found a school in Canada, that doesn't mean I could easily enroll  cause I'm not Canadian, right?

About my English, I'm 20. I still have a lot of time improvise the language. Is it possible for a south east Asian to become a pro wrestler? I'm not talking bout WWE, WWE is stil a long journey, I'm targeting NJPW as my first major promotion.

I will ask further question once this question responded.

Answer
Hey Frankie,

Yeah it is a bit tough to find schools when you're so far from them. Technically, Asia is a massive continent and you actually have a lot of schools. Issue is, they are in different countries on that continent. So, you could easily go there. But, yes you will need a Visa.

A green card is possible if you are getting a student green card, now this is different on how to get it in every country of course. But in the US for example, I know quite a number of people in my country that I go to school with who have green cards. Thing is, it's much easier to get a green card for being a student. Now, if you get a job in a certain country, then you'll need a Visa. But, this will just be down the line.

The way to deal with this is simply to talk to the promotion you decide to train at.

Now, Asia has a lot of big time wrestling hotbeds. Russia has a major promotion/school. Then add in Japan which is actually in east Asia as well. Obviously with some of the events that have happened to it over the past few years, it has become less of a hotbed for certain talents to go to. This is really why some promotions like Dragon's Gate, brought up a version to the US. Same with ZERO 1.

However, there is no doubting the training in Japan is superb in comparison to any other country. You're already so close to it, I would much rather you make the short trip there rather than go to the UK or Canada to train. Obviously they have wonderful schools there, but Japan already has good schools, plus NJPW is there. They actually have a school in house, sort of like WWE does. But you do have to pay to learn there.

Now, there are about 5 Japanese promotions that guys go through. NJPW is the big one right now, but AJPW, Japan 1, Dragon's Gate, and others are definitely one's that are seeing a lot of time from Japanese guys.

Now, being 20, you have plenty of time to grow as a wrestler. But yes, if you feel your size is what's hurting you, then I can help you out there.

Would you mind giving me the height and weight, so I'd know what plan to give you? If you do, I can make one that could allow you to be okay, and get fit all at once.

On your English, if you plan on going to Japan I'd learn more of that first. But let me ask, are you able to understand what I am saying now or are you using a translator online? If you can understand this, then you would be able to get books and see how to properly say words from that.

There is a book I'd recommend books from Mary Berger. She has books that come with CDs. She'll teach you how to properly say them and you can follow along in a book. Then whenever you get that down, you can worry about finding ways to properly speak in public.

hope this helped!
