I have always been a fan of wet bread but, at times, I like to use a slightly modified form. Instead of soaking my bread initially in water, I use salty water made by adding one tablespoon of salt to a pint of water.
After leaving it to soak for five minutes the bread is removed and placed between two sheets of newspaper. The wrapped bread is then placed under a couple of heavy books overnight.
The resultant bread is dense, soft with a slightly salty taste. I only use salt in the hook bait.
