Lift Method Float Rig for Tench: Setup & Technique

To set up a lift method float rig properly make sure you plumb the depth accurately and then slide the float up the line (from a few inches to over a foot).

You then need to place some bulk shot the same distance from the hook.
Setting up the rig couldn’t be simpler. Use 6 lb main line, a Drennan Insert waggler, a 4 lb fluorocarbon hook length, one SSG shot and a size 10 hook.

Just make sure the line is tight when fishing this method.

Bites are registered by the float lifting out of the water as a tench takes the bait.
