Cemetery Reef on the north end of Seven Mile Beach Seven Mile Beach and is a reasonable second dive site after scuba diving on the west wall You can also snorkel this site closer to shore. One can come across a variety of different marine life on the site including, Honeycomb Cowfish, Blue Tangs, Garden Eels, Black Durgeon, Spotted Drum and many more. The site has a mixture of coral fingers and sand channels to explore and a couple of good Encrusting Octopus sponges.

Visibility on the site is often reduced some at this site because of the quantity of particulates in the water. However, the site is interesting and if you are patient you will usually get a number of excellent underwater photos. You may come across Yellow Stingrays on this dive scuba diving site partly obscured in the sand. At this dive site there is also a "lawn chair" sitting in the sand where you can have your photo taken reclining on the chair.

There have been some Nurse Sharks on this dive site but it is not common. The coral reef is in poor to moderate shape across a great deal of this dive site however you will yet discover a limited number of very good hard and soft corals. You can also find a Green Moray Eel or 2 hiding in the coral reef. Make certain that you explore the under hangs and pockets in the coral. You can also come across Spiny Lobsters and other crustaceans. At this dive site there more than a few expansive areas of sand which run throughout this dive site and are good locations to look for different kinds of rays, such as the Yellow Stingray}. I have found a few juveniles on this dive site once in a while.

Close up wide angle and macro photography are best to use on this dive site because of the amount of particulates which are usually in the water. Cemetery Reef has a fine mix of fish and other marine animals on the dive site and you might see the hard to find Spotted Drum on occasion. This is normally a scuba diving site that you can dive with a buddy otherwise you could possibly tag along with the dive master. It makes a nice variation compared to one of the usual second dive sites off Seven Mile Beach particularly if you have not been diving on this site before.

As in all dives I suggest going slowly and take the occasion to enjoy this dive site. Peruse additional site reviews on my blog and see other underwater artwork on my website and tag along with me on Twitter @ images2inspire.The pool is open...
