Highschool tryouts

I'm trying out for my basketball team my first year of high school and I'm just wondering what do i have to do to make the team? I'm pretty good at basketball and today the coach put me on a one on one with a senior player i beat him 9 to 8

Your question is a bit vague, only because whether or not someone makes a school team depends on what that coach needs and is looking for in talent. I would say, make sure no matter what, you play awesome defense. Defense is more important than people think. Everyone thinks to make a basketball team you have to be a scorer. Make sure you hustle on every play and your a team player. Be a "smart" player. Figure out how you can separate yourself from the other players and stand out.
