Trying to get better

Question
hey coach,I'm 13 6 feet and 140 entering ninth grade. Last year my coach put me at tight end which was my first year ever having a position dealing with catching a football. Right now i am more then likely going to be a wide out and i want to become really good so i can do good this year and later on in life , but my hands are normal i would say and i also want to work on speed and route running. any advice?

Answer
Hello,

For speed, you need to find a hill in your area and run sprints up the hill. Or, you can invest in a training parachute.

For your hands, you just need a lot of reps at catching passes properly.

Route running, you need to work on how you come off the ball. Probably the greatest receiver in history is Jerry Rice. The one thing that all defensive backs would say about him is that you could never tell what route he was going to run. That is because his first 3 to 5 steps off the ball, all looked the same.
