Speed Training for High School Wide Receivers: A Coach's Advice

Hey coach my name is Ralph 5'7 14 years old 158 pounds i want to try out for my high school team next year i have great hands,can jump, can throw the ball as far as 32 yards ,can tackle i could basically do everything but my coaches are telling me i need to improve my speed what advice do you have for if i want to improve my speed cause i really want to be a widereceiver. thanks

Find a hill in your area, and run sprints up the hill. That will build strength and speed. If possible, you should invest in a training parachute. This is one of the top ways for athletes to increase their speed. I also recommend getting involved in track, this will teach you the correct form for running.

There is a correct form for running. A long stride doesn't always equal speed. It is the push from steps that are placed slightly in front of you and driven back behind you strongly.
