Clear Visor

Question
Hey my name is Steven and i want to get a clear football visor to wear for football next year....I want to get one because this past football season I was getting poked in the eye, sunlight effects my sighting sometimes, and getting grass/turf/dirt in my eyes. Should I get a visor? If so does the state of PA require me to get a doctor's note for one?

Answer
Under high school and college rules an eye shield or visor is permitted without the need of a doctor's note. The visor must be clear without any tint or coloring. The reasons you state for your need is the purpose of the visor with the exception of protecting against the effects of sunlight.   If sun light is an issue you may want to wear glasses or goggles which will provide you with total protection.  With that said there are some coaches or school districts, etc. that won't allow them to be worn.  I suggest you check with your coach before you buy a clear eye shield.
