Strength Training for Football: Building Power for Tight End & Defensive End
Question
I play Tight End and DE on my high school team but I'm not that strong.I have been working out this summer by using lifts that the coach writes down but i don't know if i should just do the lifts he gives me and stop afterwards or if i should do the lifts he gives me and do extra lifts. If i have to do extra lifts which ones should i do?

Concentrate your lifting on the core muscles of your body. Bench Press, Incline Press, Shrugs, Power Cleans, Squats and deadlift.
Also medicine ball work, plyometrics and box jumping are great. Dont forget agility exercise! Follow your coaches program but supplement with some of the above if not already included.
