Question
hello, im 18 years old and i've been told i have the skills to go somewhere in hockey. I know that i am far from the nhl, and even the ahl, but I want to play professional hockey. What are my options to play pro other than the ahl or nhl, and can i get some tryout dates for these options? thank you

Answer
Hi Ryan,
I answer this question all the time! Don't know your position, where you've played or what camps you've been to, but I can tell you your options.....start contacting some of the teams in the other leagues AHL, ECHL, IHL, etc and ask about open tryouts. The season is still far from ending, but now is the time to start looking. Going to high-level summer showcases are important because this is where the scouts are. Other great option is to seek out a team in Europe. Unfortunately, most teams are only allowed a few players from other countries on the team. Now is definitely the time to find a European team.
