Question
QUESTION: Hi im a 13 year old girl and i currently weigh 104 pounds is this a right weight to play ice hockey?.
i'll really aprreciate an answer
THANK YOU.

ANSWER: Hi Eden,
It would depend on your height and how physical you are or the league you're in I think. If you get bounced around a lot, then I suggest you look for a strength program and talk to a someone about nutrition to "bulk" up. Other than that I cannot tell you yes or no.

QUESTION: Sorry my height is 5 ft 2 and i havent really been on programs to increase my physical ability but i plan to. and we don't play physical in the games but ill be advancing to one like that. so yeah i'd like to repeat the question on if 105 pounds is right weight for the 5 foot 2, 13 year old girl i am.
Id appreciate it a lot.
THANK YOU..

Answer
Hi Eden
I am sorry, I do not think I can answer that question for you. Women's ice hockey is the only sport I've seen girls at all sizes and shapes play and perform well (or not) at those heights and weights. To give you an idea, when I played in college and w/ the US team I weighed 140 pounds and I am also 5'2"! That's what happens when you workout, you bulk up.
