NHL Training

Question
Hi,

I have heard that the NHL players only train during summer, that they don't work in the gym during the season. Is that true ? I thought that they were training year round, that kind of surprised me a lot.

This is true...only the losing teams don't train at the gym during the season.  No, just kidding.  All NHL teams train, before, during, and after.  Why do I know this?  Because the head scout for the Dallas Stars told me they train almost all year around.  It makes sense doesn't?

It's a multi-million dollar business with employees with high price tags.  If you were the owner of the team and you just invested, $5 million for 2 years for your franchise play, wouldn't you want him at his top performance?  Sure you would. If your were the owner, it is like an investment in the amount of money you can make.  So, if anyone told you that they don't train during the season, well just tell them that they are right and then just move on.
