Question
Why are fights allowed in hockey

Answer
Hello,

Basically, the physical nature of the game and the fact that when the game was first created there were minimal rules (none that addressed fighting) it just became a part of the game and has been accepted throughout the years.

Check out this webpage, it gives you a lot of really detailed information on the history of fighting in hockey:

Hope this helps!
