Foul-Out vs. Strike-Out in Slow Pitch Softball: Understanding the Rule

Question
On my slow pitch rec league we have a rule that if you "Strike-Out" you have to buy the team a pitcher of beer after the game.  There has been much discussion and disagreement as to whether a foul-out requires the purchase of said pitcher.  So my question is this, is a "Foul-Out" considered the same as a "Strike-Out"?

Thanks much!

Answer
Hi Shane,

Ok here's my "expert opinion"

A strike out in SP w/out stealing is sometimes called a "super non-productive out" SNO, because there is no chance of the offense gaining anything out of it.

If a batted ball w/ 2 strikes is a foul ball, it is a dead ball, out, there is no chance of the offense gaining anything out of it.

Remember a caught fly ball in foul territory is not technically a foul ball, it is a caught fly fall so that doesn't count.

I say ......"quit your bitchin"..... get out your cash boys and/or girls, pony up for pitcher, you deserve to buy.
