Bat Recertification: Understanding ASA Standards & Regulations
Question
i have a 2006 demo white steel, that is used by my entire team. the markings are totally worn off. in my last game the bat was removed from the game, by the home plate umpire, how can i get my bat recertified ?
Answer
Claude,
Bad news, I don't think you can. Anything other than a manufacturers finish on the bat makes it illegal. If the ASA2004 stamp is not legible, the bat is illegal as well. I think the only thing you could do is contact the manufacturer to see if they can refinish the bat for you. I have never heard of this being done but it may be worth a try.
