if a player rounds first with a runner on third and stops and changes directions between first and second in an attempt to draw a throw to score a runner from third is that runner called out

Most likely not.

The batter is allowed to round first, stop, pick up the ball and immediately commit to a base.

If the batter commits to second then stops, batter out for look back rule violation.

If the batter doesn't immediately commit to a base after picking up the ball, batter out for LBR violation
