Vintage Fenwick CA577 Fishing Rod: Value, Age & Details

Hello I've been passed down a vintage Fenwick Model CA577 fishing rod with cork handle and trying to find  some info: value, what years its from, materials made with(I believe its bamboo?), whats does the model # stand for if anything?

Hi B,

Fenwick made fiberglass rods and the earlier models would be from the 1965-1980 time period which is what I believe you have.  The casting rods do not typically have the vlaues or the collector following that fly rods enjoy.  However, vintage Fenwick rods do have a pretty loyal following of owners and users who enjoy fishing with those rods; and, in some cases, those rods only.

Value would depend on actual rod condition but should be in the $30-$60 range.
