Betts rod

Hello Mr. Douglas. I have a Betts Fishing Tackle No. 44BRT, Betts MFG CO. DETROIT 19, MICHIGAN. Don't know how old it is. Are you familiar with this rod? Could you kindly provide me with any knowledge you may have with regards to it? Thank you for your time and have a nice day.  Rick

Hi Rick,

I have seen questions on Betts rods before. The company is no longer in Detroit.  There is a Betts operation in Florida, but I don't know if they are connected.  I am pretty sure Betts did not make the rod but had the rod made by another company and their label applied.

The older fiberglass rods are probably from the 1960s-1970s and value would likely be in the $15-$30 range depending on actual condition.
