Pflueger Akron Reel Screw Size Inquiry & Replacement

the screws in the side plates that hold the plates to the cross posts.Are they #3 - 48? I have some 4-40 but they will not start right.

I am not sure of the screw sizes, however should be able to easily get replacement screws by posting a request for parts at one of these two sites
