Fishig reel

Question
I bought a Fishing reel along with a couple of tackle boxes full of old wooden lures and now wamt to put them on e-bay. I can't find out how much I should ask for the reel.  It is Hardy Bros. it says hand crafted in England on it.  It is green on one side and what looks like chrome on the other. It also say's System 8 Scientific Anglers on it.  Can you help me with how much I should ask for it?
Thank you

Candice

Answer
Hi Candice,

This is a tough one for me.  I know some true Hardy's are worth some money.  But Hardy made reels for a number of companies over the year including S.A. I really never thought they were highly regarded and would have guessed at a price of about $40-$50.  I did try looking some up on various websites and I see them being listed for $75 so my initial guess may be a little low.  I'd say probably somewhere in between.  I don't think it is a highly sought after reel like an original Hardy.

I'd like you to send this inquiry to Joe Douglas on this site.  He is the expert on collecting rods and reels.  He will know a little more.

Good luck,

Marc
