Broken fenwick royale

Question
Hey I had my brothers fenwick royale out and I hit a tree with the rod and broke down to the first two eyes. How it be better to buy him a new rod or repair this one, and if it's cheaper to repair where and how could that be done

Answer
It will be way cheaper to repair the rod.  I'm talking about $70-$100 cheaper.  You can purchase a rod repair kit off the Internet and then take it up as a hobbie, or you could just take it to a local tackle shop and they will typically repair rods. Plus, guides are the cheapest repair.  Your looking at about $12-$40 dollars depending on quality and the guides used.  I recomend the use of Fuji Alconite guides.  They will last forever, plus they won't break out if it happens again.  Also, while they are repairing the rod, have them check for any cracks or fractures in the rod to ensure the rod isn't terminally damaged.  If they find a crack, run, or fracture it will cost you $20-$60 and will ensure that it won't break during a fight and cost four to five times that to repair it or about ten times that to replace that.
