Answer
Bill,
You have an older US bamboo rod. Horton became Bristol.
History :
http://www.oldfishingstuff.com/horton_mfg_co.htm
Bristol rods are mentioned in Antique %26 Collectable Fishing Rods: Identification %26 Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000), p143.
If you get pictures you might send them to me at macsrods@yahoo.com
William Edwards made some of the Bristol - Horton rods and they have some value but you would need the model to be sure. If the restorer removed the model numbers he did a dis-service to the rod. Examples of models are F-3. F-5, F-7, F-12 and F-18.
For example :Homel gives the 8.5 model Model F-18 fly rod by Edwards with an extra tip, 3 sections a value of $65, 180 and $325 for poor, good, excellent condition respectively. Please quote the book not me as I have never seen the rod's condition.
Good Luck,
Mac
