Vintage 10ft #17 Heddon Bamboo Fly Rod - Identification & History

Question
I cannot find any info on this 10ft rod.  It is a 10ft Rod with two tips.  It is signed #17 Heddon.  Where can I find info on this rod?

Answer
Gloria,
I assume it is a bamboo fly rod . Flat sided with the reel below the handle.

You can read about the history of Heddon :
http://home.myfairpoint.net/and96jac/fishnbanjossliceoflifeincyberspacecopy/id19...

Books (might be at the library)
Antique & Collectible  Fishing Rods: Identification & Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000) add about 30% for age of book.

Bamboo Rod Restoration Handbook by Michael Sinclair. This would help you age your rod based on the label . If you describe and or photograph the label in detail, I can do this for you. e-mail macsrods@yahoo.com

Classic & Antique Fly-Fishing Tackle: A Guide for Collectors & Anglers by A.J. Campbell

Homel mentions several 9 footers but not the 10.

The best book is Heddon: The Rod with the Fighting Heart also by Michael Sinclair.
He mentions a extended handle on the 9 1/2 footer that makes it 10 feet but otherwise there is no ten footers. I would need pictures to confirm the make / model.
How do you know it is 10 feet ?
I could use details , pictures of labels, ferrules  and grips.
If  it has the extended grip I might be interested in it.
Luck,
Mac
