Actionglas Fly Rod Line Weight Recommendation - Expert Advice

I have a actionglas fly rod model 1586, Orchard Industries, Detroit Michigan - 8'-6".  Could you tell me the wt of line recommended for this rod.  The decal is smudged so I do not know the size of this rod.

Hi Matt,

I would try a 7wt and an 8wt line on the rod to see which performs best.  I don't have anything that tells me exactly what the line rating is for the rod, but I would expect it to be one of these two.  If you don't have access to multiple lines to try several, get the 8wt.
