can you give me any info on jc higgins model 47c reel it is in good shape.

JC Higgins (Sears) didn't make reels, but purchased them from Shakespeare, Bronson, Penn and some other makers and sold them under Higgins (similar to Kenmore appliances).

These reels were fairly inexpensive and high volume in their day making them common today. These reels typically sell from $5-10, more with the box. There are a few exceptions that sell a little higher.
