I am looking for more info on this such as era, worth, maker, recommended  weight etc.

is there other markings on this rod. There is an old Action Rod made by Orchard Industries. But, there are also numerous makers that have models called an action rod.

Generally
Custom American Split bamboo rods are most valuable
Limited production split bamboo rods are next (Heddon, Wright & Mcgill etc)
High quality fiberglass, graphite rods
then high production rods of all materials are at the bottom.
