Is this model a graphite rod?  Also, would you recommend it and at what price?

Hi Peter,

Yes, it is a very nice graphite rod.  In new condition, they sell for $75-$90 on eBay so I'd say that's a fair price.  Less if it's been fished hard.  Make sure the reel seat works good, the cork is in good shape and that the guides look good.  A worn tip-top you can fix for a couple bucks.  Replacing a bunch of guides by a repair shop could get costly.  A bad grip can get even more costly to repair/replace.  

I see that this is an 8 weight.  Make sure that this is the weight you need.  A good deal isn't a good deal if it isn't what you really need.  An 8-weight would be for Bass, Steelhead, Pike on small streamers, and maybe some light saltwater (flats/inshore-Specks, Reds, small Snook, etc).
